In 1972 the artist and flamenco guitarist Darcy Lange (Aotearoa / New Zealand, 1946-2005), helped by his Sony Portapack camera, started the recording of what he called work studies ("work studies"), durational video observations of people while they work. Landa Lan A Documentation of Darcy Lange is the exhibition proposal made by the artist cooperative Tractora Koop about the life and work of thia video-artist from New Zealand. The four sessions of which this Focus consists directly interpellate the documentation provided in the Exhibition Hall 2 located on the first floor of this building. Both the exhibition, and the films and short films that make up this focus, imagine a space-time map to reflect on the conventions established between the body-work pair and the socio-economic contexts in which it is circumscribed.
