Jumana Manna

One of the two summer exhibitions will be devoted to the work of the Palestinian artist Jumana Manna (USA, 1987). It is an exhibition that presents the artistic work of this young artist for the first time in Spain. Manna defines herself as a film-maker and sculptor and her work focuses on historiographical discourses and geopolitics, set in the Middle East in the context of historical events and social and cultural factors that from a micro scale cover some of today’s most important issues. Colonialism, cultural exchange and power are among the underlying themes in her work, both in the fields of film and sculpture. This show is structured around her last two films, A Magical Substance Flows Into Me (2016) and Wild Relatives (2018) and the sculptural and symbolic world that surrounds both projects.
