Estrategia feministak hezkuntzan I = Estrategias feministas en la educación I = Feminist Strategies in Education I

In this edition of the programme for the teachers, based on the interests we detected at the meeting in January, we want to think about feminisms and education from the perspective of the body, research, anthropology and the word.

These three-day-meeting will help us to reflect on our own bodies and all the bodies in the classroom or how the sexes are constructed, in the workshop called Gender perspectives of bodies reflecting on educational practices, conducted by Miren Guillo and Mireia Delgado. Besides, the workshop Flower power: cuttings from feminist, queer and pragmatic teachings, by Lander Calvelhe, is aimed to to gather together wealth and eclecticism to foster the individual and collective ‘flower power’ of people working in any field of education.

GENDER PERSPECTIVES OF BODIES: REFLECTING ON EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES
Monday, 4 july 2016. 10:00
Guests: Miren Guillo and Mireia Delgado

Different gender theories lead us to understand bodies in a particular way. This has an impact on our day-to-day educational practice. In this workshop, we will be thinking about our own bodies and all the bodies in the classroom: how the sexes are constructed, how the body is produced, how we are the body that we are, and how through our actions we condition (or not) the bodies that surround us (or not). We are bodies in the classroom.

FLOWER POWER: CUTTINGS FROM FEMINIST, QUEER AND PRAGMATIC TEACHINGS
Tuesday, 5 july 2016. 10:00
Guests: Lander Calvelhe

Flowers are everywhere. In the look of the school institution itself, in popular sayings, in social liberation movements, in Buddhist teaching, in cemeteries and at weddings. They are used to fête people and things, though they can also cause offence; some are decorative, some are opiates, others are edible, and they all bear fruit.

Following this line of thought, the aim of this workshop is to gather together this wealth and eclecticism to foster the individual and collective ‘flower power’ of people working in any field of education. We’ll pull out the weeds, hoe the earth, fertilise it and sow it and then let nature play its part.
