Liburu saltzaileen nazioarteko topaketa = Encuentro internacional de libreros y libreras

Within the Literaktum festival and for five days, the representatives of the most important book shops reunited: Collones (Tangier), Ulysse (Paris), Nollegiu (Barcelona), Ler Devager (Lisbon) and Tipos Infames (Madrid). 1. May 3rd: ‘Mythical book shops’ - Conversation between Rachel Muyal and Catherine Domain. Rachel Muyal is the heir of the Gerofi sisters, founders of the mythical Librairie des Colonnes in Tangier. She managed it between 1973 and 1998. Besides that, she met and talked with Paul Bowles, Juan Goytisolo or Mohammed Chuckri, among others. Several other writers of the famous literary city also used the book shop as a meeting spot, mailbox and cultural link with Europe. On the other hand, Catherine Domain opened Librairie Ulysse in 1971. It is the oldest travel book shop of the world, taken as the Ithaca of the journeys made around the world. She has visited over 140 countries; therefore, she is one of the most prolific travellers of our time. Every year, she takes her book shop to Hendaye, in order to claim her nomad nature. 2. May 4th: ‘New models and book shops’ - Conversation between Jose Pinho, Xavier Vidal and Gonzalo Queipo / Alfonso Tordesillas Jose Pinho runs the Ler Devagar book shop: big, with a wide gastronomic offer and, besides books, it also holds concerts, theatre plays, literary events, etcetera. Gonzalo Queipo (or Alfonso Tordesillas) sells books at Tipos Infames. This book shop in Madrid is a reference point and a wine bar, and it invites writers occasionally, so they are book sellers for a day. And Xavi Vidal has recently moved Nollegiu to an old three storey building from the 1920s, so books live with many cultural events in Barcelona. The moderator was Jorge Carrión, finalist of the Anagrama Essay Award in 2013 and writer of the essay Librerías.
