With the lifestyle of modern societies, psychological disorders are increasing among children and anxiety and stress are increasing among the adults; at the same time, the use of various drugs is increasing, and there are more and more chronic psychosis and identity disorders. As a result, one of the most important challenges that the Basque Country will face during the next decades will be mental health. On the other hand, we need to keep in mind that the Basque Country has one of the longest life expectancy rates, especially, when it comes to women and that, as a result of this the prevalence of mental illnesses is also greater that in other countries.
