Lurralde-antolamendua eta globalizazioa : gure nortasunari eutsi al diezaiokegu? = Ordenación territorial y globalización : ¿podemos mantener nuestra identidad?

The conference ‘’Town planning and globalisation. Can we keep our identity?’ organised by expert Agustin Azkarate. UNESCO Chair of Cultural Landscape and Heritage, had a triple objective: On the one hand, through the image of Horacio Echevarrieta, to praise an entrepreneurial generation, at the Abra in Bilbao, as they participated in the transformation of the river and sea landscape with various lights and shadows. The second goal was to offer visibility to the transformed sceneries. This area used to be a fortress, and was completely transformed at the start of the 20th century, as it went from being land dedicated to farming to an industrial and port area to export products, on account of the steel production, the maritime trade of iron, infrastructures for hygiene and land for leisure and fun. Finally, appropriately exploiting the identity and culture of places with a special identity (Abra in Bilbao), in order to promote opportunities to use participation emotionally and to develop the socio-economic aspect.
