The artistic residencies within the Between sands project suggested an artistic and cultural exchange between two artists from the Basque Country and Sahara. Each couple had to create a work of art, taking the concept of resistance as its core concept. The artists who would participate in the project were chosen through an open call, and couples were created. For example, choreographer, performer and collaborative artist Ibon Salvador worked with film-maker Ahmed Omar Abdalahe, who studied at the EICTB Cinema School in San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba) and has worked in various films and short films. On the other hand, sculptor Karlos Martínez Bordoy, who has held several exhibitions in various countries, collaborated with painter, illustrator and ceramist Nasra Sidi Azman, who was studying her last year at the Sahara Art School.
