This event included lectures, meetings and debates in various formats, analysing and identifying current difficulties and opportunities. Besides that, they also promoted positive action proposals for international collaboration, aimed at helping them overcome the weak situation of non-hegemonic languages and at developing and reviving these languages in a sustainable way. Specifically, some tools and initiatives that had been in motion in Europe were analysed (for example, the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages), and new tools were suggested, such as the Protocol to Ensure Language Rights.
