Audiovisual experimentation workshop directed by visual artists Ben Rivers yBen Russell and film curator Garbiñe Ortega. The workshop took place in Arteleku and consisted of a gathering over three days with screenings of audiovisual material, practical exercises and talks to reflect on the new forms and trends in experimental documentary films. The activity was aimed at people with an interest in audiovisual creativity and eager to experiment with and learn about new forms of filming narratives, and was very well received.

With the aim of opening the activity to a broader public and as a complement to the workshop, each afternoon there were open screenings where work selected by the three guests were viewed.

The workshop””s visit to Tabakalera was one of the stages of a tour that started within the Azala (Alava) space for creation and artistic residencies and which then continued to La casa encendida in Madrid and the S-8 Festival in A Coruña. We would therefore like to bring attention to this network/tour that Tabakalera was part of and which contributes to the idea of becoming a reference regarding artistic creation and reflection on contemporary audiovisual material.
