Arkitektura belarriz = Arquitectura de oídas = Architecture by the ear

From the echoes of the caves that were the first rooms to the headphones of the music recorders that echo inside the privacy of our ears today, the architecture-space and sound-hearing binomials have become the bases for understanding our reality. Although we have progressed from imitating animal grunting and roaring, to listening by means of transducers designed in great detail, when faced with all the attempts to objectualise both space and time, we are unable to understand one without the other.

As Goethe, whom history has presented to us as the last universal thinker, said: Architecture is frozen music, whereas music is liquid architecture. Beyond poetic licence, between these two forms, our ears, wet and dry in equal measure, make use of these links and reject, by means of a simple daily exercise, what we need to do to survive: to listen.

In this podcast section, on the pretext of the renovation of the Tabakalera building, but in an attempt to position ourselves in that central space, we want to present essays, dialogues, sound landscapes and other music and words on the architectures of some other ears.
