The Public Sphere (PS) Laboratory is a space for conducting research, experiments and productions of an artistic, reflective, technical and/or theoretical nature around the construction of public sphere through artistic practices. Taking up positions in relation to discourses on public art and presenting the city as a scenario for experimentation and interdisciplinary investigation. We want to recover age-old debates about artistic intervention in (public) space and its aesthetic representation, and debate the public status of art works.

This 2014, the Public Sphere Laboratory Prologue, directed by consonni is promoted by the Donostia/San Sebastián, European Capital of Culture 2016 programme and Tabakalera, with the support and collaboration of UPV/EHU, Public Art Agency Sweden (Sweden), Creative Time New York (USA) and ENPAP (European Network of Public Art Producers) as well as other agents and institutions.

A project that will run during 2015 and 2016. To present this Laboratory, its lines of research and methodology, a PS Laboratory Prologue will be conducted during the last quarter of 2014, principally in Donostia but also in Barcelona, Luleå, Stockholm and Madrid comprising different sessions.
