The brain is the battlefield. 

According to Franco Berardi (Bifo), we are undergoing a real process of “cognitive rewiring”. Our brain is being reformatted according to the demands of the connective communication of new technologies, which involves deciphering messages according to a previously defined code.

The meaning is no longer a creation, a singularity, a vibration, but a functional exchange, in a standard format.

The more abstract, the faster. The faster, the more automatic.

This is the cause of our malaise, according to Bifo. The infosphere (the sphere of the exchange of signs) accelerates. Our body does not have time to process the information. It therefore answers automatically.

Faster. Less time for attention and affection. We do not feel the other, we project it. Images without touch, like pornography. Loneliness. Depression. Collapse. 

Franco Berardi (Bifo) is a philosopher and has been an active participant in the Italian autonomous movements since the 1970s.
