Bookcrossing 2015

Bookcrossing is defined as the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. The term is derived from bookcrossing.com, a free online book club which was founded to encourage the practice, aiming to “make the whole world a library.” Many libraries have spaces for Bookcrossing where, throughout the year, the library offers to the people duplicates or books that want to remove from the collection. Once used those books are expected to be put into circulation again.
A few years ago, from a proposal made by ARTIUM, several libraries of the State released hundred of books on April 23. Each center designs and communication activity but there is also joint actions.
Tabakalera – Ubik participate this year in Bookcrossing with books created in the workshops “Artists books – Altered books.” It will be a very special event since released individuals are unique , created by hand without copy.
