In a time where film and moving images are mostly viewed on private screens and where on the other hand bigger franchises and multiplexes are still dominating, Anouk De Clercq takes Where is Cinema (2019, Archive Books) and her 35mm film Black (2015) as a starting point for a reflection on the opportunities and challenges in trying to build a culture and a social space centered around film as an art form.
