Itsasgileak

In 2016, Itsasgileak will operate as a point of reference for the maritime heritage of the Basque region. The role of women in the maritime history of the sixteenth century and the territorial relationships between the Basque Coast and Castile with regard to shipbuilding will be issues that will be addressed through various exhibitions. Meanwhile, in September, a caravan of oxen will travel the distance between Quintanar de la Sierra (Burgos) and Pasaia in 23 stages, highlighting the economic importance that transporting raw materials to the ports of the Basque coast had in previous centuries.
