The waters of the River Urumea are the backbone of this initiative and they will be overflowing with culture and knowledge in 2016. Now in its sixth year, this project will expand the horizon of the river to the bay and will incorporate not only the channel itself, but rather the whole valley. The programme of activities focuses on deepening our relationship with the Urumea and the planning of our region that, at times, ignores water's logic. In the words of the philosopher Edgar Morin, it is a rationality that «never intends to include all that is real within a logical system, but it does have the willingness to engage in a dialogue with what it resists». Guided river excursions, bioengineering workshops held in partnership with European experts, artistic installations at the edge of the river and conferences on the different aspects of the river and water management are just some of the events that will make up this year's programme. The high point will be the exhibition held at the Environmental Resource Centre where, through the works of different artists, a parallel dialogue will be established on the Danube and Urumea river -, two channels that produce life, history, social relations and unite European cultures.
