Visit to the frieze Homage to father Donosti by Jorge Oteiza at the Banco Sabadell Guipuzcoano (Avenida de la Libertad) Donostia/San Sebastián

Led by the artist Xabier Salaberria, we propose a visit to Banco Sabadell Guipuzcoano to see the frieze created by the sculptor Jorge Oteiza in 1959. This work was made in the context of the commission Oteiza and the architect Luis Vallet received to create a monument to the Basque composer and musicologist José Gonzalo Zulaika y Arregi, Aita Donostia, in the Agiña hill in 1956. In this case, Oteiza used the same marble as the stele to create a panoramic frieze adapted to the architecture of the building’s hall.
