Beste hitzak = Other words

A European circuit of artistic residencies that promote the circulation of literature written in minority languages. Each participating region (Ireland, the Netherlands, the Basque Country, Slovenia and Macedonia) will send two writers and welcome two others each year for an eight-week stay to develop their texts.

The authors will be selected through an open call in which will assess not only their professional background, but also the design of public activities (talks, events to promote reading among children and young people and collaborations with local artists) with the goal of establishing a relationship with the host community. The literary works will be translated into the languages participating in the project and into English, and they will also be published on the digital platform Other Words.
