Tratos

Tratos proposes a reinterpretation of Cervantes' comedy Life in Algiers (1580) by an international cast of actors that have experienced being an immigrant in Europe.
The plot, which revolves around the confinement of a group of Spaniards who are kidnapped by Berber pirates, will be radically reinterpreted to include a group of African immigrants who find themselves in custody at a hypothetical detention centre in Spain.
Their experiences and testimonials will be integrated into the creative process coordinated by Ernesto Caballero as part of the Rivas Cherif Theatre Research Laboratory at the National Drama Centre.
