Uda gau bateko ametsa = Sueño de una noche de verano = A midsummer night’s dream = Le songe d'une nuit d'été

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the Cristina Enea Park will become the setting for one of his most representative works: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The perfect forest for a recreation designed to immerse the public in the play as never before. This performance, a blend of theatre, dance and music, invites the audience to participate by playing the part of the guests at the wedding banquet serving as the context for the function. The opening date is 21 June, the start of the summer solstice, the magical period in which the play is set, with performances running throughout the following onth. Every evening, 300 people will be invited to participate in a pre-nuptial banquet before setting out, with nightfall, on a travelling tale merging theatre, music and dance round the delightful nooks and crannies of Cristina Enea and its magical forest. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a core project of the lighthouse of voices. An ambitious initiative conceived to excite, to offer a multisensory experience and to open a door to classical theatre thanks to one of the most iconic plays ever written in the field of world literature. Designed by Iñaki Rikarte and Fernando Bernués and adapted by Patxo Telleria, the original work has been translated into Basque by Juan Gartzia.
