Young people, city and makers.
Currently, new ways of making a city, sharing and working in community are experimented. Neighborhoods, streets and public spaces are places with great learning potential. At the same time, hacker and maker methodologies cross educational processes, open source production and collaborative work, enabling ways of thinking, creating and transforming our cities.
Hiria Hackeatu [Hack the city] is aimed at young people between 12 and 17 years and takes place during vacation periods. Starting of the hacker and maker philosophies, is developed in collaboration with Hirikilabs, digital culture and technology laboratory of Tabakalera. Together with the group of young people participating in each workshop, we investigate the environment from a critical perspective and propose transformations with artifacts created collectively, aided by digital technologies.
In addition to the intensive workshops, during this course we propose to give an outlet to the interest of the young participants in previous editions of Hiria Hackeatu with the aim of giving continuity to the learning processes. Each month we meet to carry out activities that arise from the needs of the group.
