The Music of Ramón Raquello and his Orchestra is the first large scale solo exhibition by Eric Baudelaire in a public institution in Spain. Referencing a character in Orson Welles’ radio piece War of the Worlds (1938), the exhibition's title summons a very early instance of ‘fake news’, a leitmotiv in the artist's work. Here ‘fake news’ is to be understood not in the tradition of Trump and Putin, but rather in light of Deleuze's notion of 'powers of the false’, where falsification can help us attain particular political understandings, or reveal certain political and social constructs.
