At this encounter, organized by the Basque Summer University and Gislan, we had the opportunity to delve deeply into GIS (Geographic Information System) technology that enables us to turn data into useful information for citizens.

GIS (Geographic Information System) is a body of tools that integrate and link diverse components (users, hardware, software, processes) that allow for the organisation, storage, use, analysis and representation of huge quantities of data coming from the real world that are linked to a spatial reference, thereby facilitating the incorporation of the socio-cultural, economic and environmental aspects that make for more efficient decision making.
