Maurizio Lazzarato will run a morning workshop within the framework of the Ariketak: la segunda respiración project with the objective of reflecting upon the relationship between work and artistic practice.

In the writings of the sociologists and economists who are concerned with the transformations of capitalism and, more specifically, with the transformations of the artwork and cultural market, there is a tendency to conceive artistic production and its ways of operating as the model from which the neoliberal economy draws its inspiration.

In this workshop, the philosopher Maurizio Lazzarato will delve into a detailed critique of the conception of work and of the stances of Boltanski & Chiapello in relationship with artistic practice, as is exposed in their famous book entitled The New Spirit of Capitalism (2002).
